Green Board fibrolite consists of wood wool (60%) and Portland cement (39.8%) with addition of a natural mineralizer (0.2%). This is the solution of sodium silicate (stationery glue) of low concentration for neutralization of sugar in the timber (aspen).
In fact, Green Board fibrolite is the "improved timber", it is more durable, but flexible due to the retention of all useful properties of solid wood. Besides, it has not such defects as knots, changing the direction of the fibers caused by the natural conditions of the tree growth, internal voids and cracks, as well as easy flammability and lack of biostability.
